We&rsquo;d like to invite participants across TI&amp;I to come together, share ideas and learn new and exciting technology. Blockchain and smart contract technology offer many possible opportunities and we&rsquo;d like to explore some ideas through a Hackathon.

Overview
Cryptocurrencies have been making waves in the headlines and the growth of Decentralized Finance platforms has caught the attention of many financial institutions worldwide. This technology is moving fast and we cannot ignore it or treat it as a passing fad. We&rsquo;re seeing more and more institutional interest in cryptocurrencies and the underlying blockchain technology. CIBC Technology needs to take steps to learn how this technology is being used outside and look for opportunities to leverage it ourselves. We cannot sit and watch. We need to act.
This hackathon is the first step. We&rsquo;d like to invite participants across TI&amp;I to come together, share ideas, learn a new technology stack and have the opportunity to build something. If blockchain technology can be used to resolve complex inefficiencies in our existing business, let&rsquo;s explore those ideas. If we think we can leverage this tech to expand existing businesses, let&rsquo;s explore those ideas as well.
Most importantly though, this is an opportunity for you, to learn and expand on your existing skillsets. You don't need to be a blockchain expert or a developer to participate. We want this to be an opportunity for you to learn this technology and anyone from any level/area of technology can participate.
